CK Standard Collet for CK2 Series

These come in sizes from 1.0mm to 3.2mm, these collets fit all standard WP9 and 20 TIG torches. These solid collet designs are superior to the old standard split collets which can twist and warp if overtightened. The wedge design allows for the tungsten to be put in direct contact with the collet body. This will improve the current transfer point which means a better arc starting point, stability and less resistance heating while having less low current arc wandering. 

These are sold singularly- if you require a pack then please order in quantities of 5. 

Why choose a wedge collet?

Wedge collets can last up to 10 times longer than standard split collets, that is because the split collets are prone to warping, twisting and deforming if they are overtightened. The thread life of the torch head is improved as it requires less pressure from the back cap. These collets also tend to run cooler. Another major benefit of this collet type is that they will fit any standard collet body or lens. 

The chamfered edge which creates the wedge end allows for firm hold of the tungsten, sometimes with the standard split collets parts of the collet can fall into the weld pool if it snaps.  CK Worldwide has created the first patented wedge collet to combat this problem. 

 

What size wedge collet should I use?

For CK9 and CK20 (2 Series) with a tungsten size of 1.0mm use collet #2C040GS, for 1.6mm use collet #2C116GS. 2.4mm use collet #2C332GS and for tungsten size of 3.2mm use #2C418GS. 

If using a CK17, 18 or 26 torch use the 3 series collets, for 1.0mm tungsten's use #3C040GS, 1.6mm tungsten's require the #3C116GS, the 2.4mm tungsten will need  the #3C332GS collet, 3.2mm tungsten's require the use of the #3C418GS collet and finally the 4.0mm tungsten's use the collet with code #3C532GS. When selecting your wedge collets from us you will see a drop down link for the size of tungsten which will select the correct collet size.
