Furick Fupa 12 Ceramic Cup Kit
The Fupa 12 Ceramic kit comes with two ceramic plans and a spare diffuser, these are designed to perform the same as the glass cups but be more durable. This kit is made to thread onto the 45V44 or the 17 conversion kit. This version only comes in a 2.4mm (3/32) tungsten size and does not require any o-rings.
This ceramic cup from Furick is made to handle up to 200 Amps non-continuance, it is recommended to only use this in DC applications. Please note that the diffuser mesh which comes with the cups are designed to only work with the Furick branded cups- it would be ideal to have a few of these to hand to replace when required. If you require more of these you can find them here please ensure you have selected the correct diffuser mesh.
The diffusers should be installed as you receive them, they must seal tightly around the cup for the best weld. There should be a gap between the two screens- it can take some patience to get them in correctly but this patience pays off. Ensure the cupped side is in first.
*Please note that you will need a 45V44 gas lens to thread onto- if you have a 17,18 or 26 type torch you will need the Furick 17 conversion kit.
How to install the diffusers?
1- Install your new glass or ceramic cup onto the torch with the 3/32 tungsten on.
2- You can then install the screen over the tungsten ensuring the cupped side is on first.
3- If you have a diffuser mesh installer tool you can use it to easily install the mesh, if not then you can use your fingers and apply even pressure over the installation tool- this should ensure the diffuser mesh is effectively sealed inside the cup against the cup all the way round.

Why should I buy a ceramic cup from Furick?
Ceramic cups are used for TIG welding and reduce gas turbulence around the weld site by shielding the weld pool. Metals including stainless steels and titanium require precision gas coverage and the mesh of the diffusers ensures a laminar flow of the gas onto the weld pool. This in turn results in a good weld. Ceramic cups are more durable compared to glass cups and result in more reliable results, they are also more resistant to cracking.
Due to the inherent brittleness of the ceramic and glass cups it is essential to keep your cups safe- ensure you store them in a safe way and when handling be careful with them.

What materials can I weld with the Fupa 12?
The Fupa 12 is recommended for welding with mild steel, stainless steel, chromoly, titanium, Inconel and other space grade alloys. The best materials are thinner or smaller materials such as header tubes and chassis tubes.
If using the larger cups such as the Fupa 12 it is recommended that the welder is on a low amp setting in order to stabilise the arc and ensure you avoid arcing on the diffuser, if this happens you will have to replace the diffuser and regrind your tungsten- a low amperage won't damage the diffuser.
